Assorted Crap

Published by yolander at 1:09 pm under Uncategorized Edit This

Ahhhh Notamomma, I’ve been neglecting you.

I’ve been thinking about the purpose of this blog lately. Each time I sit down to write, I seem driven to write about my childhood. If this seems out of line with the purpose of the blog, I can understand that. Unfortunately, I think that my childhood is the reason behind the subject of the blog. The reason that I don’t want children.

f

So, what happens when you accept the fact that if you continue this blog it means exposing yourself, your family, your past for what it is? It means that you (or, in this case, I) need to be comfortable with everyone reading it, including family members- should they happen upon it.

f

As the child of alcoholics, I have spent an entire lifetime denying that there is a problem. No, my parents don’t drink too much. Nope, my parents aren’t abusive. Gosh no, my parents would never neglect me. No matter what, deny, deny, deny. At this point I realize that to not write about it would be to continue to deny it.

f

Fuck that.

So, parents, siblings, aunts, uncles and cousins who come across this blog and don’t like the information it holds, I just want you to know that I don’t give a flying flip. It’s time to get real, my friends.

That’s one of the great things about a blog. If someone is offended, they can stop reading. If they keep reading, aren’t they offending themselves?

email me at the James during the election sabatical, it’s too jazzy without you.
